AssetWise Objects

AssetWise objects represent all the things you encounter and work with in an enterprise environment. The power of the AssetWise object-orientated data model is the building up of relationships between differentAssetWise objects to assist in definition and control, and to provide context.

Using appropriate data objects to represent the actual enterprise objects has the added benefit of having best practice business rules applied to them for data integrity purposes.

Different types of objects form the overall AssetWise data model.

  • Primary independent objects include physical items, virtual items, documents, and work orders.
  • Secondary dependent objects include document copies, serialized items, change requests, work tasks, modifications, deviations, waivers, distribution orders, transmittals, object lists, and notes.
  • Enterprise objects include persons, organizations, projects, and locations.

AssetWise object data is business process driven and comprises a prime identifier, system- and user-defined attributes and object relationships to properly describe and control each instance of every AssetWise object in the database.
